Frank Valdez, Client Relations Director

Frank has been a part of 1st Choice Home Care since its inception. His position was created in order for 1st Choice to be proactive in monitoring services provided to our clients in their homes. Frank regularly makes appointments to visit clients, and also drops in unannounced. His caring, calm demeanor makes his position a perfect fit . He is usually the first representative to meet the client, and to address any questions or concerns. Frank's Gerontology Degree, as well as his ability to listen carefully, allow him to customize a care plan for each client, including everything from nursing care, medical assessments, insurance coverage, and transportation - to assessing the food and safety supply requirements for the home.


Cynthia Santos, Staffing Director

Because she understands clients' needs so well, and knows exactly what our caregivers provide, Cynthia's position as Staffing Director is critical to the successful operation of 1st Choice. Upon receiving a new client assessment, Cynthia reviews our team of CNAs, HHAs, Companions, and Homemakers for their specialized skill levels, availabilities and personality traits. The magic happens when she places the perfect caregiver in the home. "I know our caregivers very well, and I get a great deal of pleasure and satisfaction in matching the right client to each caregiver," she says. " Cynthia has worked in skilled nursing facilities and private homes. She knows our caregivers' duties as well as her own! Cynthia's extensive background makes her the perfect "Caregiver of Caregivers" at 1st Choice.

Fidelia Salazar, Intake Coordinator

Fidelia has been with 1st Choice since 1995, and is a native San Diegan. As Intake Coordinator, she is the first contact for clients and family members who are inquiring about in-home care services. Fidelia thoroughly explains 1st Choice’s services and enjoys the diversity of our clients’ needs. “I like meeting clients and families, and addressing the various needs, health conditions and lifestyles that make everyone unique,” says Fidelia. “It’s rewarding working closely with families to help their loved ones remain comfortable in the privacy of their own homes.” Fidelia, who is also a Medical Assistant, appreciates the opportunity to work for such a caring agency. “We’re like a close family at 1st Choice,” she says. “Everyone gets along very well, and truly cares about each client.”
